Scholar Spotlight: Katrina Gillespie

Being a Madonna Scholar has taught me how important service is and how much people appreciate the little things we do for them.

Katrina Gillespie, Resurrection High SchoolThe Winter 2014 Madonna Scholar Spotlight is on Katrina Gillespie from Resurrection High School.

As a very active sophomore, Katrina is in Key Club, Celtic Club, and Health Careers Club through her school. Her favorite subjects are Math and Science, and she hopes to be a chiropractor someday. She enjoys Resurrection’s block schedule because it changes up her daily class schedule, and includes time for homework. Katrina was an avid gymnast until a recent elbow injury. After surgery, the doctor ordered that she discontinue gymnastics. This didn’t hinder Katrina’s spirits; she now volunteers as a coach for beginner gymnasts.

Katrina’s great grades, dedication, and positive attitude are an inspiration. She’s a standout representative of the Madonna Foundation and sets a great example for all Madonna Scholars.
